Can you trust Segway?

A question about the paperwork, not the machines. We checked every figure Segway publishes against its own documentation. 2 figures did not hold up.

What we found wrong

Navimow X45050% → 84%

Listed at 50% grade elsewhere. Segway publishes 84% (40 degrees) for the X4 series.

Cause The 50% figure is the X3 series rating (X330/X350/X390). The X350 is also rated 1.5 acres, which is how the two rows appear to have merged.

Navimow i110N45% → 30%

Listed at 45% grade in circulation elsewhere. The official Segway i-series manual gives 30% inside the work area and 10% at the boundary.

Cause The 45% figure is the i2 AWD series rating, copied onto the wrong product line.

Where Segway contradicts itself

These are unresolved on Segway’s side, not ours. We publish the figure most consistent with how the maker states its other rows, and record the disagreement rather than hiding it.

Navimow i110N0.25 acres · 30%
Slope corrected from 45% to 30%: the 45% figure belongs to the i2 AWD series, not the i1 series. Official Segway i-series manual gives 30% inside the work area and 10% at the boundary. Segway EU spec page shows 45% and 1500 sq m for this model, contradicting Segway own manual - manual treated as authoritative.

What this does not tell you

Whether a Segway lasts. We have not tested these machines and this is a specification database, not a review site — so nothing here speaks to build quality, app reliability or what happens in year three. What it does say is whether the numbers Segway prints on the box survive being checked.

Straight answers

Are Segway's published specifications accurate?
We found published figures that were wrong and corrected them against the manufacturer's own documentation. Of 6 Segway machines, 6 carry specifications confirmed by the manufacturer plus at least one independent source, and 2 carried a figure that was wrong in general circulation.
Which Segway specs are wrong elsewhere?
The Navimow X450 is widely listed at 50% grade but is actually 84%. The Navimow i110N is widely listed at 45% grade but is actually 30%.
Is Segway worth buying?
We do not publish reliability opinions — we have not tested these machines. On paper, Segway covers 0.15–2.5 acres and 30–84% grade.
